Enabling "Ultra" mode will allow you to increase the range of the device from 900MHz to 7.3GHz.
The waterfall will allow you to differentiate different signal types.
To increase the sensitivity of the device, we want to active the LNA.
You can view multiple ranges of frequencies instead of just one range, let's active that and use it to view the typical VHF and UHF bands used by popular walkie talkies.
The yellow line shows the current RF energy detected on that frequency, we can also add a red line that holds the maximum frequency detected. I prefer the "Max Decay" setting instead of the "Max Hold" instead. The "Max Decay" setting is similar but the line will decay if a signal has not been detected on that frequency for a while.
All these settings will not be remembered on power cycle unless we save it as the "Startup" preset.
This device is capable of receiving a wide range of the radio spectrum, but antennas are limited. If you use an extendable antenna, you will need to adjust the antenna to the band you are listening for. If you use a specialized antenna for a specific bands, you will have trouble receiving signals on other bands unless they are really close.
