All tests are done with dual band 2.4GHz/5.8GHz antennas watching 2.4-2.5GHz, 5.725-5.875GHz with the multi-band feature.

No LNA Comparison

Internal LNA

External LNA

The antenna was connected to the device directly, then removed and installed on the external LNA, and then the external LNA connected to device.

Conclusion

The internal LNA appears to work far better than the external LNA recommended by a Ukrainian PDF document that I found. However, the document appears to referr to TinySA Ultra ZS405 instead of these upgraded models. They may also may be using a custom operating system which may affect how the LNAs interact with the device.

The internal LNA is recommended with the latest device at time of writing, the TinySA Ultra+ ZS407
