Imaging refers to the process of placing a file system format onto a hard drive in a specific format, usually with an operating system included with the file system. We shall do this to your smaller USB drive.
Open Rufus and select your "Device" which should be your USB stick. Then press the "SELECT" button and navigate to your Ubuntu Desktop iso file.
At time of writing, the file name would be "ubuntu-22.04.3-desktop-amd64".
You can then hit the "START" button on Rufus. This is the first of several progress bars you will be seeing.
