Brave Configuration

Once you have Brave open, click the three bars at the top right, and click on settings.

I recommend making Brave the default browser, then click on "Customize new tab page".

You can upload your own background image if you desire.

Brave Stats show at the top left. It shows how many trackers and ads have been blocked, how much bandwidth you've saved as a result, and how much time you've saved waiting for pages to load with that much less trackers and ads. I like to leave it on.

Scroll down and turn off "Show Sponsored images", then click on "Top Sites".

Turn "Top Sites" off, then click "Brave News".

Turn off "Brave News", then click the "Back to Dashboard" and then click "Clock".

The clock doesn't show AM or PM, so I use the 24 hour clock. Make your selection then click on "Cards".

Scroll down and turn off the "Brave Rewards" card. I recommend leaving the "Brave Talk" card. You can use that to start a voice and video chat with someone, just start a chat and share the link.

Go back to settings, and click on "Appearance" in the sidebar. I recommend turning off the "Brave News", "Brave Rewards", "Brave Wallet", and "VPN" buttons. I also recommend showing bookmarks at all times.

Click on "Leo" in the sidebar. Brave has a chatbot you can use, but I recommend against using it. Turn off "Show Leo icon in the sidebar". Then click on "Search engine" in thte sidebar.

I recommend switching the the "Startpage" search engine in both combo-boxes. Then click on "Autofill and passwords" in the sidebar.

Turn off "Allow auto-fill in private windows". I don't save passwords or anything in my browser, let's turn all of that off. Click "Password Manager".

Click on "Settings".

Turn off "Offer to save passwords", and "Sign in automatically". Then close the tab to go back to the "Autofill and passwords" screen, and click "Payment Methods".

Turn off "Save and fill payment methods", and "Allow sites to check if you have payment methods saved". Click the left arrow next to the title "Payment methods", then click "Addresses and more".

Turn off "Save and fill addresses", then click "Downloads" in the sidebar.

I recommend saving files to the desktop, that way you can see what you've downloaded and delete it once you're done without forgetting. A clean desktop is a clean mind.

All that's left is to setup your bookmarks, enjoy Brave Browser!
